Ganondorf Figures

Ganondorf is the ruler who wants Hyrule for himself. His red hair and commanding presence recur across The Legend of Zelda, but the Gerudo king’s appearance changes with the kingdom he threatens.

Ganondorf figures may recall the armored ruler of Twilight Princess, the robed swordsman of The Wind Waker or the returning Demon King of Tears of the Kingdom. These portrayals belong to different games and histories; their weapons and clothing carry that context.

The man who reaches for the Triforce

In Ocarina of Time, Ganondorf’s ambition centers on the sacred power of the Triforce. His pursuit of it leaves him with the Triforce of Power, placing him against Link and Zelda in a struggle whose consequences divide Hyrule’s history.

Ganondorf and Ganon are closely connected names, though the appearance they identify depends on the game. Ocarina of Time makes the change explicit when the defeated Ganondorf transforms into the enormous beast Ganon. The red-haired Gerudo ruler and the monstrous form are different manifestations of that game’s enemy.

An old kingdom beneath the sea

The Wind Waker places Ganondorf in a world where Hyrule has been hidden beneath a great flood. Link’s search for Aryll brings the young hero into his attempt to reclaim the kingdom and its power.

His long robes and paired swords fit this older, more restrained portrayal. The stillness of his appearance contrasts with the energy of the young Link pursuing him. Their confrontation concerns an ancient kingdom, yet it is the people living above the sea who will have to live with its outcome.

The Demon King in Tears of the Kingdom

In Tears of the Kingdom, Ganondorf is tied to the catastrophe that overturns Hyrule and separates Link from Zelda. His Gerudo origins remain visible in the red hair and jewelry, while his Demon King appearance belongs to the power he gains within this story.

His rise takes place in the ancient Hyrule ruled by King Rauru. The conflict ends with Ganondorf imprisoned beneath Hyrule Castle, where his eventual return brings that distant war into Link and Zelda’s present.

The history behind Ganondorf’s appearance gives a Zelda collection a particular adversary: the seeker of the Triforce, the ruler looking back toward a lost Hyrule or the Demon King threatening it anew.
