Chris Redfield Figure

Chris Redfield begins Resident Evil investigating a missing team in the Arklay Mountains. Later games send him into outbreaks around the world, with responsibility for other people who may not come home. His move from S.T.A.R.S. to the BSAA changes both his equipment and the scale of the fight.

Chris figures draw on those stages of the series. The green vest of his early appearance and the heavier tactical designs of later operations recall a survivor whose work continues long after the mansion.

Story and character

What he carries out of the mansion

Chris enters the first Resident Evil as a member of S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team. The investigation leads him to the creatures, laboratories and Umbrella experiments hidden in the mansion. Escaping leaves him with a company to pursue and evidence of a threat extending beyond that building.

His early S.T.A.R.S. clothing places him at the start of that pursuit. It belongs to an investigator encountering Umbrella’s bioweapons directly, before the international operations and command responsibilities of the later games.

From pursuing Umbrella to the BSAA

The search takes Chris through events far beyond Raccoon City, including Rockfort Island and Antarctica, before he helps found the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance. The BSAA gives the continuing fight an organized, international role.

The operation in Kijuju

Resident Evil 5 pairs him with Sheva Alomar in the Kijuju Autonomous Zone. Their investigation into a bioweapons operation leads toward the Uroboros plot and his confrontation with Albert Wesker. His larger build and field equipment belong to this experienced Chris, years removed from the original mansion investigation.

The people under his command

Chris’s concern for his team becomes a recurring part of his later role. Capcom’s account of Revelations describes a captain who puts the safety of the people he commands ahead of his own. The game also places Jill and Parker in the position of searching for him when he goes missing.

In Resident Evil 6, he continues serving with the BSAA while carrying the effects of personal trauma. Leading others has consequences that his strength cannot remove. The military bearing of later Chris designs sits within that history of operations, loss and responsibility.

The early S.T.A.R.S. design recalls Chris discovering the threat. His later appearances follow the years he spends confronting it with a team.
