Tails Figure

Tails first follows Sonic because he admires the way he runs. The young fox has been teased for his two tails; watching Sonic gives him the courage to move beyond that experience. Their adventures gradually turn admiration into a partnership in which Sonic can rely on him.

The twin tails are central to that story and to the silhouette of Tails figures. He spins them to fly, while his talent for machines gives him another way to keep pace with a friend who can outrun almost anyone.

Story and character

Learning to be the person Sonic can count on

His full name is Miles Prower. Tails is a nickname drawn from the feature that once made him feel different and now lets him carry himself through the air. Flying beside Sonic turns that difference into something useful to both of them.

In the platform games, he can reach higher routes and carry a companion for a short time. The friendship becomes part of how the player moves through a level: Sonic does not have to make every crossing on his own.

Tails still looks up to him, but he also wants to become someone Sonic needs. That ambition gives his quieter moments of problem-solving a purpose. He is learning to trust his own abilities as well as his friend’s.

A mechanic who takes the controls

Tails enjoys building and modifying machines. Sonic Adventure gives him room to work on the Tornado aircraft, connecting his enthusiasm for engineering with the practical demands of their journey.

In Sonic Adventure 2, he pilots the Cyclone, a machine developed from the Tornado that can take a walking combat form. His part in the rescue effort relies on technical skill and the willingness to act when Sonic is in danger.

Those roles explain why portrayals of Tails can feel equally at home in flight or beside machinery. His two tails identify him immediately, while a determined expression can recall the moments when he has to take responsibility himself.

The friendship with Sonic and the pleasure Tails takes in making things belong together. A Tails figure can recall a companion whose confidence grows as he discovers how much he can contribute.
