Midna Figure

Midna meets Link when he is trapped in a wolf’s body. She knows far more than he does about the darkness spreading through Hyrule, and she is quite willing to make use of his predicament. Their partnership in Twilight Princess begins with unequal terms.

Her small imp form, orange hair and heavy stone headpiece are familiar features of Midna figures. They belong to a character hiding both her identity and the extent of what she has lost.

Two people with reasons to break a curse

Link needs a way back to his human form. Midna needs help confronting Zant, who has taken control of the Twilight Realm. Traveling together initially serves their separate interests, and her teasing manner keeps Link at a distance.

As Wolf Link, he can follow scents and reach places through abilities he does not have as a human. Midna guides him and helps him cross obstacles. The image of her riding on his back comes from the way they actually work together throughout the adventure.

The stone fragment she wears is part of the Fused Shadow, an ancient source of power that matters to her plan against Zant. Its size and carved shapes give her imp silhouette its distinctive imbalance: a small body beneath a relic whose history she understands better than Link does.

The princess of the Twilight Realm

Midna is the rightful ruler displaced by Zant. Her imp appearance is the result of his curse, so the tall Twili form revealed later is her restored identity. These appearances mark very different circumstances in the same life.

Her concern also changes as she comes to depend on Link and witnesses Zelda’s willingness to help her. Saving her own realm remains essential, but Hyrule’s people cease to be strangers whose troubles she can simply leave behind.

That growing trust explains why Midna and Wolf Link are so closely associated. Their shared journey turns a practical arrangement into a friendship, making their eventual parting matter after the threat to both worlds has passed.

A Midna figure carries the story of Twilight Princess in her changing form and her bond with Link. The imp, the Fused Shadow and her restored appearance each belong to a different point in that journey.
