Start with the world you return to
A collection can grow from a game you keep replaying or a character whose story stays with you. That interest gives the objects a connection before there is a plan for a whole shelf. One piece is enough to begin; there is no need to turn a favorite series into a list of everything it has ever released.
A game you want to revisit
A physical game can belong to both a collection and an evening’s play. Before importing an edition, check its platform, supported languages and any stated software requirements. A familiar cover or a shared game title does not establish what is included in that particular version.
A figure you want to spend time with
A character figure gives a story a physical presence in a room. Some invite you to arrange a pose; others hold a gesture or expression you want to keep. Think about where you will see it during an ordinary day and whether you want access to change the display.
A character beside your desk
On a low shelf or beside a screen, the face matters as much as the overall silhouette. Check the figure from the angle you will actually see. A display planned from eye level can feel quite different once it is placed above or below your usual line of sight.
Making room for plush
A plush gives the same character a textile form, with its own size and care needs. Leave space for its shape rather than squeezing it between harder objects. Keep the care label, especially if it will be handled often instead of staying behind a cabinet door.
Let the collection take shape gradually
Live with the first piece before deciding what belongs beside it. You may want to follow one character through different stories, keep a small group together or mix the things you play with the things you display. The next addition can follow that interest when it becomes clear.
