Aizen Figure
Sosuke Aizen understands how much people will accept from someone they trust. As captain of Squad 5, his mild expression and glasses make authority look approachable. By the time Bleach exposes what he has been doing, that familiar appearance has already helped him manipulate the people around him.
Aizen figures draw on the captain, the ruler in Hueco Mundo and the prisoner held in Muken. Each appearance belongs to a change in how openly he can exercise power, while the confidence with which he regards other people remains remarkably consistent.

Story and character
A captain skilled at being believed
His place within the Gotei 13 gives him access to the institutions he intends to undermine. He learns how others think, encourages their assumptions and uses their loyalty against them. Momo Hinamori’s trust makes the betrayal especially personal.
Kyoka Suigetsu makes that uncertainty part of combat. Its complete hypnosis can manipulate the senses of those under its influence, so recognizing a familiar person or location offers no assurance that the perception is true. Opponents must question the evidence on which they are trying to act.
When Aizen abandons his glasses and changes his hair, the deception has already succeeded. The altered appearance accompanies the decision to stop performing the reassuring captain’s role in front of his former colleagues.
Hueco Mundo and the Hogyoku
In Hueco Mundo, Aizen commands Arrancars and presents himself with an authority independent of the Soul Society. His white clothing belongs to the world from which he directs the next stage of his challenge to its rulers.
His use of the Hogyoku carries that ambition into his own body. As it changes him, his appearance moves further from the composed human figure who once served as captain. The transformations accompany an attempt to exceed the limits of the powers he has studied and exploited.
The prisoner in Muken
After his defeat, Aizen is confined in the deepest level of the underground prison. The dark restraints and sealed appearance belong to that imprisonment. They reflect the precautions taken around someone whose abilities remain a threat.
The Thousand-Year Blood War brings him back into contact with the Soul Society through Shunsui Kyoraku. Their encounter depends on necessity and negotiation. Working against a shared enemy leaves the history of his rebellion intact, as well as his conviction that he should answer to no one above him.
The captain’s glasses, Hueco Mundo white and Muken restraints mark changes in Aizen’s position, from trusted authority to rebellion and confinement.
